Windows Resizer v0.2.12 Portable

Save the dimensions and position of various application windows and restore them using a simple hotkey, with this lightweight, portable utility. When using multiple applications at once, many of us have an exact window layout that makes the most of the available screen space. If you move or resize a window, however, you may find it difficult to get everything back to the way it was. Window Resizer is a small, portable application that enables you to save the dimensions and position of windows that belong to specific processes, and then restore them at any time with a configurable hotkey.

Not only does this program not need to be installed, but it also saves all its data in the root folder. No files will be stored in other locations, and no new registry entries are created on launch or shutdown.

Window Resizer only runs in the system tray, so it is very unobtrusive. It lacks a standard GUI, but you can close the app from its tray icon and control it with configurable hotkeys.

By default, the key combination for saving window properties is CTRL+ALT+S, and the hotkey for restoring them is CTRL+ALT+R.

The application saves both the position and dimensions of a window, and you can use the assigned key combination to restore it to its previous size and position on the desktop.

However, it might have helped if users had the option of only changing the window’s dimensions while leaving it in the same place on the screen. Also, it is not possible to only alter a window's height or width.

It is worth noting that, in order to modify the default hotkeys, you need to open the config.json file in a regular text editor. The process isn’t too difficult, but it is not exactly novice-friendly.

In short, Window Resizer is a simple but useful app that enables you to record and restore the dimensions and position of various windows. It can be very helpful, but novices would certainly appreciate a more intuitive configuration process.
